Silent Shutterz, known as Jeriel ("Jerry") Nunez, is a photographer hailing from The Bronx, New York. Jerry was always interested in photography, but at a young age was not able to afford a camera to start his journey. As a freshman in high school, Jerry received a point-and-shoot Canon camera from a relative, where the journey to finding himself began.
From the point-and-shoot, Jerry wanted more out of his photography experience, so during the winter of 2015, he scraped up enough money shoveling cars out of the snow to buy a used, worn out Canon EOS Rebel T5 from the Facebook Marketplace. From there, his passion for photography only grew stronger. Jerry found himself exploring New York City in very unconventional ways, ways that many people from the city had not, and posted photos of his journeys on Instagram to tell his story.

After a few years of exploring the inner works and the forgotten areas of New York City, Jerry found out there was a position for photography in the military. Excited at the promise of travel and the ability to use what he had learned the past few years, he signed up and shortly after graduating Brooklyn Technical High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and went to bootcamp in July of 2018. After successful completion of his combat training, Jerry moved to Fort Meade, Maryland, to embark on his professional training as a military photographer at the Defense Information School (DINFOS). There, he was able to explore Maryland and take photos in an environment that he was not familiar with, an experience he cherishes to this day.
After completion of his stint at DINFOS, Jerry received orders to go to Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. In Hawaii, he was able to take breathtaking photos with professional military equipment, and regularly went on photoshoots to spend his free time.

In June of 2021, Jerry was discharged from the Marine Corps. Although his military career was cut short, he still cherishes every moment he had in the military and is grateful to hail the title of United States Marine for the rest of his life.
After leaving Hawaii a month after his discharge, he moved to North Jersey to continue his passion for photography. he would drive hours into New Jersey looking for damned places to explore, and make frequent trips to NYC to do the same. he worked at a Frito lay warehouse to fund his travels, but, after a few months, he made a spontaneous decision and moved back to Hawaii.

After staying in Hawaii for about a year, he moved back to mainland United States, where he moved to Mount Vernon, New York, to build a better and more stable life. after going through a few career switches, jerry found his way to Fordham university, where he attends to this day, projected to graduate in 2028. he is currently studying computer science, working alongside other student veterans and contributing to The overall appearance of the website for the school of professional and continuing studies. he is also extremely active in the Fordham athletics program, shooting photos for some of the university's teams such as the waterpolo, football, women's basketball and baseball teams.
Throughout his time, he has been able to travel the world, in pursuit of rare photos of transit systems, derelict structures, deep caverns and world-class views using social engineering and a little bit of flair.

jerry enjoys taking photos on his free time. When he's not taking photos, he's working out, solving Rubik's cubes, attending classes or planning his next week-long photo trip. quite honestly, I don't think he'd have it any other way.
